About Us The Polish tradition of glass blowing dates back as far as the 10th Century with full-scale industrial production beginning by 1310. By the 16th century there were as many as thirty working glasshouses in Poland, and the industry grew steadily reaching its peak in the 1700’s. Historical events such as the partition of Poland by the Austrians, Russians and Prussians later that century resulted in the industry’s collapse. This art form remained dormant in Poland until the 19th century when again glass ornaments began to be produced on a commercial scale.

Floral Designs The tradition of decorating Christmas trees dates back to 19th century Germany and Sweden. In the 20th century Polish artists joined others in creating blown glass Christmas tree ornaments. The Maselko family joined in this tradition in the early 80ís. At that time in Zabkowice Slaskie, a small town in the Silesian region of Poland, we founded a factory, which employed the disabled and produced Christmas ornaments using the traditional 19th century methods.

Since our inception two decades ago, the Maselko factory has been employing artisans, who bring their great artistic talents to the enterprise of creating unique hand made ornaments. Each piece has its own unique characteristics and no two pieces are exactly alike. Today our ornaments combine 19th century traditional techniques with modern innovations and designs, and are created to be a collectorís item. We invite you to begin your own tradition of collecting and giving these extraordinary contemporary renditions of the ancient tradition of Polish glass blowing.
